Baltimore Ravens

According to Matt Miller of Bleacher Report, the Baltimore Ravens look to heavily address the edge position in the 2020 NFL Draft. He states that they want pass rushers who can “attack the opposing quarterback”. At times this season, the Baltimore Ravens have failed to get consistent pressure on the quarterback despite Matthew Judon’s nine-sack season. And with Judon set to become a free agent in March, the need could immediately become dire in Baltimore.

Regardless of if the Ravens bring back Judon, they could still look to address the position early in the draft. Pernell McPhee is injured and an older free agent who I don’t think will remain with the team after the season while mid-season addition Jihad Ward doesn’t look to stick around either. Third-year pass rusher Tyus Bowser has flashed but hasn’t put up consistent production and the jury is still out on rookie Jaylon Ferguson.

Anae is a perfect fit for Don “Wink” Martindale’s 3-4 defensive scheme. Anae has been seen rushing from space on Utah’s defense and has the speed to potentially play some coverage if the situation calls for it.  Additionally, Anae is a tough run defender, something that the Baltimore Ravens covet in their linebackers.

If the Ravens were to target Anae in the 2020 NFL Draft, they would probably look to draft him in the second round. Currently, the Ravens own the 64th pick in the second round, which is where Anae could potentially come off the board. Should they bring back Judon and add Anae, the Baltimore Ravens could have a potent pair of pass rushers.
