The Bills’ top wide receiver duo of John Brown and Cole Beasley will be 30 and 31 respectively next season, and an infusion of youth is needed at the position.

The Bills could very easily go with a big ‘X’ type of receiver in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and one of the players I really like there is Clemson’s Tee Higgins, but the EDGE talent in this draft is far inferior to the rich wide receiver talent, and Buffalo would be very happy to land a playmaker like Tyler Johnson here.

With 25 touchdown catches over the last two seasons and two straight 1,000-yard campaigns in a row for the Gophers, Johnson established himself as one of the best playmakers in all of college football and he did it pretty under the radar.

This is a guy at 6-foot-2, over 200 pounds who doesn’t have the blazing speed of a Henry Ruggs or the catch radius of a Tee Higgins, but he does everything really well and he plays a physical, well-rounded game.

Johnson is capable of making big plays in the red zone as well, and could give the Bills a playmaker who can eat up targets, move the chains on third down, and force teams to cover everyone else one-on-one.
