Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Nebraska. 6. player. 810. WR. JD Spielman

With this mock draft winding down, the New England Patriots take a shot at some upside at the wide receiver position. We have talked many times about them needing more offensive playmakers and JD Spielman could come in and help fill the void.

Speilman is an extremely quick and explosive wide receiver prospect who can create space as a route runner. He also shows nice run after catch ability and has the raw speed to take it to the house from anywhere on the field. Spielman certainly lacks ideal size and has a raw skill-set, but he is a talented guy who is worth taking a chance on late.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Terence Steele. 7. player. 874. OT. Texas Tech

You can never have too much offensive line depth and the New England Patriots seemed to be particularly short at offensive tackle this season. Terence Steele has a nice combination of power and length at the position and could quickly grow into a nice depth player up front.

LB. Akeem Davis-Gaither. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Appalachian State. 7. 47

With their final pick of this mock draft, the New England Patriots find themselves a bit of a jack-of-all-trades on the defensive side of the ball. Akeem Davis-Gaither is listed as a linebacker, but he has the speed and athleticism to play a defensive back role as well. Davis-Gaither is an extremely tough and physical player who moves well laterally and closes on the ball carrier quickly.

His ability to tackle in space is also impressive, as Davis-Gaither uses his long arms to wrap up and bring down ball carriers with ease. He also does a nice job of working through traffic and shedding blocks. The Patriots love to find guys who can compete on special teams and Davis-Gaither feels like a perfect fit.
