What’s next for the New England Patriots? Here, we go deep and try to predict a strong path to success with a complete seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft.

Things could change in a major way for the New England Patriots this offseason. After their 20-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night, the Patriots will now move forward with many questions that need answering. Chief among them is the future of quarterback Tom Brady.

The 42-year-old Brady looked more mortal than ever before this season and the Patriots never seemed to be able to put together a great drive when they needed it. It was an ugly offensive season for the New England Patriots and Brady deserves some of the blame. He is undoubtedly one of the best players in NFL history but it is fair to wonder how much Brady has left in the tank. On top of that, it is not like the Patriots surrounding him with a ton of talent this season.

For the first time in his career, Brady will legitimately hit the open market as a free agent this offseason. While I would not count on him leaving New England, it seems more possible now than ever before. There will undoubtedly be teams out there looking to pull Brady from the Patriots and bring him in as the missing piece to a possible Super Bowl run.

We also need to think about the possibility of Brady retiring this offseason. While I highly doubt that he will want to go out like this, Brady is not getting any younger. It is certainly possible that he decides that he has had enough and simply calls it quits.

All of that being said, the most likely scenario is that Brady returns to action next offseason as the starting quarterback of the New England Patriots. The possibility of him leaving is more real than ever before, but it is difficult to even imagine Brady leaving New England until it actually happens.

In this post, we are going to look forward to the 2020 NFL Draft for the New England Patriots with a complete seven-round mock. For the purposes of this mock draft, we are going to assume that Brady is back with the team and they are looking to build around him for one last run.

The Patriots need a lot of work. Let’s see what we can do.

Note: As things stand now, the Patriots have seven picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, their first and third-round picks and five Day 3 selections. However, after letting Trey Flowers and Trent Brown walk in free agency last season, they are likely to do well when the compensatory picks are announced. In this mock draft, we are going to give the Pats the two third-round compensatory picks that they are extremely likely to receive.
