Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has officially declared for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Add another Alabama Crimson Tide player into the draft. Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has declared for the 2020 NFL Draft, just a little while after teammate Jedrick Wills. Jeudy announced his intent on Twitter this afternoon.

Jeudy came into Alabama as a highly rated high school player but didn’t get many looks as a freshman, logging just 14 catches. In 2018, as a sophomore, Jeudy broke on to the college football scene, catching 68 passes for 1,315 yards and 14 touchdowns, averaging a whopping 19.3 yards per catch.

In this past season as a junior, Jeudy regressed slightly, but still caught 77 passes for 1,163 yards and 10 touchdowns. That regression is partly because of the emergence of other receivers at Alabama.

He finished off his 2019 season in a big way. Jeudy played in the Citrus Bowl for the Tide and had his best game of the season. He caught six passes for 204 yards and a score, which included an 85-yard touchdown to open up the scoring in the game.

Jeudy entered the 2019 season as the consensus top receiver prospect for the 2020 NFL Draft, but other prospects have caught up this season. While he may not be the consensus top guy currently, he’s still one of the top receivers heading into the draft process.

Jeudy has so many traits to be excited about as he goes pro. He’s got wicked quickness, fluid hips and has one of the best (if not the best) releases in the class. He also has great change of directions and snaps off routes with ease.

Jeudy has the speed to beat defenders deep and can make guys miss after the catch. His only real knocks right now are his frame and a few concerning drops. As it stands, he should have a strong combine and be one of the first receivers taken in the 2020 NFL Draft.
