2020 NFL Draft: 5 prospects Cleveland Browns could target with No. 10 pick
By Evan Bachman
This is another unlikely scenario because Derrick Brown will probably be gone at this point in the draft. Defensive tackle isn’t a big need because they already have Myles Garrett, Olivier Vernon and Sheldon Richardson on their defensive line, but if Brown is available he’d be a massive upgrade over Larry Ogunjobi.
Brown is an absolute monster at 6-foot-5, 318 pounds. He is a fantastic athlete for such a big man. Just watch this play against Florida this season where he recovers a fumble then just takes off down the field. He did fall down, but not many big guys can move that fast.
He has potential to be one of the best run stoppers in the NFL with his strength he can just outright bully offensive linemen. He’s also very effective in pass rush, usually utilizing a bull rush to push the pocket. In his career at Auburn he’s recorded 33 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks in 45 games.
If Brown is available at 10 it would certainly be intriguing to pair him with their other pass rushers, but offensive tackle and linebacker are bigger needs, so if Thomas or Simmons are still on the board they should be the pick, but if they aren’t Brown would be a good value pick.
