In this 2020 NFL Mock Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers get a game-wrecking defensive lineman to help out their defense plus more!

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a lot to build upon.

Despite their 7-9 finish on the season, the Bruce Arians led Bucs showed a ton of promise during the 2019 season. Their offense finished the year third in points, third in total yards and first in passing yards. Their defense, despite ranking towards the bottom of the league in points and passing yards, played better down the stretch, finishing the season first in rush yards defended.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers saw big production out of Shaq Barrett who notched 19.5 sacks in a breakout season. Wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin each had over 1,000 receiving yards, and second-year running back Ronald Jones III showed flashes of improvement. On top of that, rookies Devin White and Sean Murphy-Bunting look like they will be high-level contributors for a long time on the defensive side of the ball.

However, the future of Jameis Winston remains up in the air, after what some considered a historic year despite his high interception numbers. The question now is do the Tampa Bay Buccaneers move on from Winston or keep him for another year? The answer to that question is a bit muddled as reports say that Winston will stay although recent statements by Arians seem to suggest he’s falling out of favor in Tampa.

While it’s up in the air whether the Buccaneers will address quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft, there other holes on this roster that need to be ameliorated. The offensive line still needs work, particularly at tackle considering veteran pass blocker Demar Dotson will be a free agent this offseason.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could also use a strong safety and perhaps another corner for depth. Additionally, defensive line, running back and rotational edge should be addressed at some point in the draft.

So with that in mind, let’s go through a mock for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and address those needs.
