Alohi Gilman 2020 NFL Draft

With their final pick on day two of the 2020 NFL Draft, I like the Broncos adding some depth and talent to the secondary.

Especially a player like Alohi Gilman, a captain at Notre Dame who fits the personality type the Broncos are coveting in prospects in recent years.

Gilman is not only a leader on his team, he’s a heck of a player with the type of instincts and physical toughness Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell love in defensive backs.

Although the Broncos have maybe the best safety duo in the NFL in Justin Simmons (who is coming back one way or another) and Kareem Jackson, they may need a top reserve with Will Parks potentially getting re-signed and moved to the nickel role on a full-time basis.

Gilman would give the Broncos a player who can be an ace on special teams right away, be an eventual starter at strong safety, and provide necessary depth at a critical position in Vic Fangio’s defense.
