OT. Jedrick Wills. Pick Analysis. Alabama. 6. player. 13. Scouting Report

Although many are projecting the Chargers to go after a quarterback with their top pick, I’m not sold that’s their play.

It’s going to be hard enough for the Chargers to let Philip Rivers go, but this is also not really a roster in position to simply throw a rookie quarterback to the wolves.

The Chargers could certainly go with a quarterback here, but I think they’re much more likely to retain Rivers or go after a player with some experience instead. I don’t know exactly who that is, but there will be plenty of options.

Instead, I think the Chargers fortify their offensive line and take a player who has been really rising over the last couple of months.

Alabama right tackle Jedrick Wills is a classic “dancing bear’ with great feet and absolutely devastating power from the tackle positions. If he gets his hands on a defensive lineman, they’re done for.

The Chargers have struggled to find stability and consistency on the offensive line. Wills would be a desperately needed infusion of top-flight talent up front offensively for LA.
