It really feels like the 49ers are going into the 2020 offseason with very few actual needs on their roster.
The safety position is a strong one for them, though Jimmie Ward is a free agent at season’s end.
Xavier McKinney has been all over the field this season for the Crimson Tide, and in fact has been playing at a very high level for two seasons now.
He has had a particularly stellar junior campaign, however, with 85 total tackles (career high), 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, three interceptions, and four forced fumbles.
His productivity as a tackler and playing the football are outstanding traits and obviously Alabama players coming into the NFL are some of the most physically ready to make instant impacts.
McKinney could be a starter immediately on a very good 49ers defense.
