2020 NFL Draft: Raiders make huge trade in first round mock draft
After trading down in the first round of this mock draft with the Las Vegas Raiders, the New York Giants get one of the most unique types of playmakers we’ve seen coming out in recent years.
Dabo Swinney, the head coach of the Clemson Tigers, once stated that he felt Isaiah Simmons could be an all-conference performer as an edge player, off-ball linebacker, or safety.
As it turns out, Clemson defensive coordinator Brett Venables has decided to make him a unique weapon who does all three well, and I think the New York Giants would love to have a playmaker like this in their defense.
Simmons is a tremendous talent athletically, but he’s an equally instinctive football player who can truthfully be lined up anywhere. It’s not that he doesn’t have a true position, it’s just that he can help mask things and create confusion for opposing offenses.
He’s a rare type of weapon.
