Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
Jonathan Taylor is one of the most productive running backs in the history of college football and one of the top players at his position in the 2020 NFL draft class. This season, Taylor has carried the ball 299 times for 1,909 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Through his three-year career at Wisconsin, Taylor has 6,080 rushing yards (6.7 YPC average) and 50 touchdowns on the ground. He is the sixth-leading rusher in FBS history and could jump into the top five with a big Rose Bowl performance. Simply put, he has been one of the best running backs in the history of college football.
Taylor shows an impressive combination of power and speed with the ball in his hands. He is a smart and instinctual runner who always seems to find the correct hole. When he finds a crease, Taylor hits the hole with explosive burst and can take it to the house from anywhere on the field. Taylor also works through traffic extremely well and shows impressive power at the point of attack.
If a team is looking for a true workhorse back to immediately lead their rushing attack, Taylor is the guy in the 2020 NFL draft class. The wear and tear on his body from such a large college workload is a concern, but we cannot ignore Taylor’s production. He is a fringe first-round prospect who will make an immediate impact at the next level.
