1. 829. Pick Analysis. Tua Tagovailoa. QB. Alabama. player. Scouting Report

Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is the biggest wildcard in the 2020 NFL Draft. If he were fully healthy, he would legitimately challenge Joe Burrow to be the first pick in the draft. Unfortunately, Tagovailoa is dealing with an extremely tough hip injury that could legitimately hold him out for the entire 2020 season. If teams are not happy with the way Tagovailoa is progressing through his rehab, he could fall far down the board.

That being said, he is still one of the most talented quarterbacks who has entered the draft in recent years. Tagovailoa is an extremely smart quarterback who reads through his progressions well and rarely makes a poor decision. He also shows some nice ability and more than enough arm talent to hit any throw on the field.

Most importantly, Tagovailoa is an extremely precise and accurate passer to all three levels. This guy knows where to place the ball and shows the accuracy to put it on a dime no matter the situation. Tagovailoa is also a great touch passer who can take a little off and float the ball into position when it is needed.

This all comes down to how teams feel about the hip injury. If Tagovailoa continues to heal well and team doctors clear him, he is a likely top-five pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Miami Dolphins are the perfect team to bring him in. If Tua is not ready for the 2020 season, they can roll with Ryan Fitzpatrick again or give Josh Rosen another shot before turning it over to Tua in 2021. As long as the hip is not a long-term issue, Tagovailoa is a great pick for Miami here.
