Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama

The Dallas Cowboys will likely attack their defensive needs with their first-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. They have many needs both on the defensive line and in the secondary that must be addressed if the Cowboys expect to compete going forward. That being said, I think there is a slight chance that Dallas continues to load up with playmakers on the offensive side of the ball, putting Prescott in a better position to succeed.

If they go with an offensive selection in the first round, wide receiver stands out as the most likely position to make an addition. If the Dallas Cowboys add a talented first-round receiver to the mix, their starting trio of Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and the first-round receiver would be legitimately elite. The Cowboys will be making Cooper a priority this offseason, but if he moves on, adding a first-round receiver becomes much-more likely.

Whether Cooper is around or not, Alabama Henry Ruggs III would make sense for this team. Ruggs is the fastest and most explosive player in the 2020 NFL draft class and is going to set the draft world on fire at the combine. That being said, he is not just a guy who can run fast in a straight line. Ruggs also shows extremely impressive short-area quickness and change of direction ability.

He is also an incredibly elusive player in the open field and when he finds some open space, Ruggs can take it to the house from anywhere on the field. A sharp route runner who knows how to create separation, Ruggs is the kind of guy who can consistently make plays on the outside and in the slot. He is obviously a tremendous deep threat, but Ruggs has a nice, well-rounded game that will translate to the next level.

The Dallas Cowboys simply must have Ruggs on their radar, and while their defensive needs are more obvious, Ruggs might be too good of a player for them to ignore.
