The Dallas Cowboys have needed a legitimate interior penetrator for a long time now. They have been able to attack the passer from the edge, but lacking the ability to make the opposing uncomfortable from the interior has been a consistent issue for this defense. South Carolina Javon Kinlaw would help solve this issue.

Aside from the incredible Derrick Brown, Kinlaw is the best interior defensive lineman in the 2020 NFL draft class. He is an absolute monster up front, showing an incredible combination of power and quickness off of the ball.

Kinlaw is incredibly explosive off of the snap and excels as an interior one-gap penetrator. He is a fantastic natural athlete on the defensive line who can create consistent upfield burst as both a pass rusher and run defender. Kinlaw is also extremely quick and mobile at all times, changing directions extremely well for a man of his size.

While Kinlaw is best known as a one-gap penetrator who wins with explosive quickness up front, do not sleep on his raw strength and power as a defensive tackle. Kinlaw is incredibly powerful at the point of attack, keeping opposing offensive linemen in check and holding his own at the line of scrimmage. He also anchors in and holds his ground extremely well, rarely getting moved far off of the line of scrimmage.

With an impressive combination of quickness and power on the defensive line, it is easy to see Kinlaw’s upside at the next level. He is a strong defensive tackle prospect who would fit the needs of the Dallas Cowboys extremely well. Kinlaw is an obvious target for this team in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
