NFL Draft: Ranking the top 10 Day 2 picks of the decade (2010-2019)
By Jason Truitt
Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner has earned every penny of his three-year, $54M contract he signed in the summer of 2019, making him the NFL’s highest annually paid linebacker at the time.
This man is a tackling machine. You can always find him near the ball and at the point of attack on nearly every play.
With the depletion of the Legion of Boom, Wagner stepped up his game. In the past four seasons, Wagner has ranked in the top five in tackles in three of them, finishing as the league’s leader in tackles in both 2016 and 2019. Wagner has earned 130 or more tackles in all but one of his seven years in the NFL.
The Utah State product is now a six-time pro bowl selection, four-time All-Pro and Super Bowl champion. He knows that his job is to get to the ball and he does so at an extremely high level.
Wagner has seemed to have established himself into his own tier, apart from the rest of the league’s inside linebackers. His production doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon as Wagner snagged more tackles than any other player in the NFL this season with 159 total.
