Jeff Okudah. 1. Scouting Report. CB. Ohio State. player. 50. Pick Analysis

The first two picks should be pretty locked in at this point. The Bengals should take Joe Burrow and the Redskins should take Chase Young, barring a trade or anything crazy. So, the Lions will likely be looking at Jeff Okudah, Derrick Brown, Jerry Jeudy, Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Simmons as the most likely choices at number 3.

This decision most likely comes down to either Okudah or Brown and to me, this should be a pretty easy decision. The way I see it, Okudah is the most talented player available, plays a premium position, which is also a massive need for the Lions.

Drafting Okudah could give Matt Patricia (if he’s not fired) a chance to play more man coverage, lock up receivers across the board, and send extra rushers at the quarterback like the Patriots do.

Pro Football Focus‘ evaluation of Okudah tells you why he is considered such a special talent, “Watching Okudah’s tape, you can’t help but wonder if he was created in a lab somewhere to play the cornerback position. Listed at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, Okudah has elite size, length, speed, change of direction and leaping ability.”

Coming into the season there was concern about Okudah’s ball skills, but he definitely put those to rest this season with three interceptions and many other great plays on the ball. Ultimately, Okudah is about as good of a cornerback prospect as you’re ever going to find and should be the selection for the Lions.
