Every 2020 mock draft that I see has the New York Jets either taking a receiver or offensive lineman and for good reason. But what if the Jets address the offensive line in free agency and take a big-time corner instead?

The 2020 NFL Draft is also littered with wide receivers which could allow the Jets to grab one in the second and third rounds as well. Kristian Fulton can help a depleted secondary with his ability to play man coverage.

The only way the Jets consider taking a corner at 11 overall is if the top receivers and offensive lineman are off the board, which is very possible. What the Jets do in free agency will have a direct impact on the draft and there are no real difference-makers on the open market for cornerback other than Byron Jones.  The Ravens also recently locked up Marcus Peters to a three-year contract.

The most likely outcome, if both top receivers and lineman are off the board, may be a trade down. Here, the Jets could look to take a lower-tier offensive tackle or wide receiver while picking up some extra draft capital. However, in the event that the Jets stay at 11 and the ideal players are not on the board, I like Fulton as a possibility.
