Ranking the 10 best NFL Draft picks of the decade (2010-2019)
2. 2012 NFL Draft: Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks, Round 3, Pick 75
Russell Wilson is the only player on this list that was taken outside of the top two rounds, as he was famously taken in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Since then, Wilson has taken the league by storm and has been a fixture in the NFL’s elite since his rookie season.
He has been a six-time Pro-Bowl selection, led his team to two Super Bowl appearances, winning one against league MVP, and NFL legend, Peyton Manning and has won more games than any player ever in their first eight seasons. Wilson has never had a losing season and has just one year where his Seahawks did not win at least 10 games.
His success has not gone unnoticed, as Seattle made Wilson the highest-paid player in NFL history at the beginning of the year.
He’s surpassed everybody’s wildest expectations and looks to be getting better and better as the years pass. If Wilson can lead his team on another Super Bowl run or two, he will legitimately be in the conversation as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game. Pretty good for a guy that was taken after a punter.
