Ranking the 10 best NFL Draft picks of the decade (2010-2019)
8. 2018 NFL Draft: Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens, Round 1, Pick 32
Lamar Jackson is the only player drafted in the last two classes to be featured on this list, and while his sample size is small compared to the rest, his impact has been undeniable.
After being the fifth quarterback taken and the final pick of the first round in the 2018 NFL draft, Jackson has made a lot of teams look foolish for passing on him with dominant play and a penchant for winning. Since taking over for Joe Flacco in Week 11 of his rookie season, Jackson has led the Baltimore Ravens to 19 wins and just three losses, which is the best record in the NFL during that stretch.
In 2019, Jackson has taken his game to the next level, as he has had one of the most dominant seasons from a quarterback in recent memory and is well on his way to his first league MVP in 2019. For which I expect him to be a unanimous vote, which is something only Tom Brady has accomplished since they began giving out the award in 1957.
Jackson has broken records with both his arm and his legs, has made good defenses look bad and has his team as the odds on favorite to win the Super Bowl this season. Not bad for a guy many believed couldn’t play quarterback at the next level.
