The 2019 Season has come to an end for the Dallas Cowboys. The bad news is you missed the playoffs. The good news is your draft position improved significantly!

Man, the Dallas Cowboys were THIS close.

The 2019 autopsy of the Dallas Cowboys will be one that shows a team that simply did not live up to the expectations set for them in the preseason. The full cause of death cannot be put on the shoulders of one individual: player regression missed opportunities and coaching issues plagued this team since the beginning of the season.

Going into the preseason, analysts and sports journalists were crowning this team as frontrunners for an NFC Championship. Now it’s looking like Dallas’ general manager tandem of Stephen and Jerry Jones will have to make sense of what happened and move forward best they can.

Rest assured, some assistant coaches and trainers will be fired come Black Monday. Possibly even head coach Jason Garrett. Some aging veterans will be released or traded in the offseason. It is sad to see someone who worked so hard this season lose their job. But in this league, if your team isn’t proactive after failure, you’ll be chewed up and spit back out by your divisional betters.

Fortunately, the 2020 NFL Draft is only a few months away. The silver lining of missing the playoffs is now the Cowboys draft position is set and it is time to get to work on those scouting reports.

The 2020 NFL Draft will give your team a chance to rebuild the position groups that most underperformed this season, and bring in some fresh blood to this team. Judging by the lethargy of the 2019 season, it looks like the Dallas Cowboys could use it.

In this 2020 NFL mock draft for the Dallas Cowboys, we’ll explore the team’s options for each round and get a look at some of the prospects that should be available to the team.

We’ll break down previous years’ draft analysis, see what Jones tendencies have been in recent drafts when it comes to what position groups they prefer. And finally, we’ll look at the prospect’s time in college, see what they did particularly well and what they will need to work on before they can start in the NFL.

The 2019 season was a real let down for everybody. And nobody wants to see star players they’ve cheered for years hit the road. It’s not cheap replacing that authentic jersey you wear on game day. But for everything, there is a season. And for this team, it’s now draft season. Let’s get started.
