Round 1, No. 1 Overall: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU

This pick will be mocked to the Cincinnati Bengals about a billion times between now and April (and that might not be an exaggeration). Joe Burrow is the obvious selection for a franchise that needs a new start.

What a game Burrow had in the College Football Playoff semifinal in LSU’s 63-28 rout of Oklahoma. Burrow completed 29 of 39 for 493 yards and seven touchdowns and had more touchdowns than incompletions in the first half. He looked unfazed once again in the pocket and bought time when needed to make plays. His placement and touch down the field was magnificent once again in that game.

Burrow could still add a National Championship to his resume, and he should be able to come in and be the starter for Cincinnati from day one. His ability to maneuver in the pocket and thrive amidst the chaos is unchallenged in this draft class. He’s enjoyed such a meteoric rise this season in terms of NFL Draft stock, and it will culminate with being the number one overall selection in April.

With Burrow here, it’s now up to the Cincinnati Bengals to surround him with enough talent, through free agency and the draft, to build a winning team.
