Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb declares for 2020 NFL Draft
Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb will enter the 2020 NFL Draft.
We all knew that Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb would enter the 2020 NFL Draft, but now, it is official. Less than 24 hours after Oklahoma’s season ended with an ugly 63-28 loss to LSU, Lamb took to Twitter to announce his decision.
“I am officially announcing that I will be declaring for the 2020 NFL draft,” Lamb wrote. “It has been my dream for as long as I could remember to play in the NFL, and I believe it’s the right time to take that next step.”
Lamb will now likely enter a battle with Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to be the top receiver in the draft. Both Lamb and Jeudy have proven themselves as fantastic NFL prospects and lead an overall impressive group of receivers in the class. On paper, this looks like the best group of receivers that we have seen come out in a very long time.
After a four-catch, 119-yard performance against LSU, Lamb piled up 62 receptions for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns this season. He was named a consensus All-American for his play for the Sooners this season. He leaves Oklahoma as one of the most productive pass-catchers in the long and storied history of the school.
Lamb is not the fastest or most naturally athletic receiver in the 2020 NFL draft class, but he has an impressive mix of skills that gives him obvious playmaking ability on the outside. He is an extremely quick and elusive player which makes him incredibly difficult to bring down in space. Lamb is an incredible run after catch receiver who works through traffic well and shows an impressive combination of quickness and contact balance.
Lamb is also an impressive jump-ball receiver who tracks the ball as well as any receiver in recent memory. He controls his body extremely well in the air and is an absolute magician with his footwork along the sideline. Lamb can go up and get it as well as anybody and does an incredible job of completing the catch the trough traffic.
Whether he ends up going before Jeudy or not, Lamb is extremely likely to be a top ten selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. And whoever ends up taking him is going to be extremely happy with their selection.
