Oklahoma State vs. Texas A&M Texas Bowl: Top 2020 NFL Draft prospects

A.J. Green, CB, Oklahoma State

A.J. Green is an interesting cornerback in the 2020 NFL draft class who I believe is getting slept on a bit. He has the size, listed at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds with good length, and also moves extremely well. He has good short-area quickness and legitimate deep speed on the outside. Green has also shown impressive ball skills throughout his college career.

He is a particularly impressive off-man coverage defender but can hold his own at the line of scrimmage as well. Overall, Green is a talented cornerback prospect who could raise his 2020 NFL draft profile with a strong performance against guys like Ausbon and Davis.

Kellen Mond, QB, Texas A&M

Kellen Mond is another fringe 2020 NFL draft prospect playing in this game who we should all be keeping an eye on. Besides guys like Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert, there is a lot of unknown in this quarterback class. Mond has not particularly separated himself against other quarterbacks in this class, but he is a talented guy who could have a nice future at the next level.

Mond has legitimate NFL arm talent and he shows it off on a consistent basis. He can hit the deep ball and can fit the ball into tight spaces with velocity. He also works the pocket well and shows good accuracy to all fields. The problem here is his lack of consistency. Mond has a great arm, but he relies on it far too often.

He can fit the ball into tight spaces at times, but there are also times where he needs to learn to eat it and find an easier throw. There are some decision-making issues here and while he is accurate, the accuracy does come and go.

He is not a perfect prospect, but based on pure talent, there is a lot to like about Mond’s game. He is undoubtedly an interesting player to watch in this game.
