Miami Dolphins seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft: Tua and more
By Evan Bachman
Elijah Mitchell has enough of a skillset to potentially make an NFL roster. He has good burst, he runs hard, he’s strong at the tackle point, and he has solid receiving skills. In 31 games with Louisiana, he’s rushed for 2334 yards and 32 touchdowns and has added 33 catches for 444 yards and 5 touchdowns through the air.
Cameron Clark is an intriguing late-round player. He is a solid athlete who is solid in both pass protection and run blocking. In pass protection, he uses his hands well to control defenders and is quick enough after the snap to not get beat off the snap by speed rushers. In the run game, he has a powerful punch and can also pull and make blocks in space. As bad as the Dolphins tackles have been this season you never know a late-round tackle could get a shot at starting.
Carlos Davis fits the Miami Dolphins 3-4 as someone who lines up primarily at nose tackle. Davis is 6-2, 320 lb with solid athleticism. He is a two-gap defender against the run who wins leverage battles in the run game. In the pass rush, he uses a bull rush to get the push in the pocket. In 46 career games, he has 125 tackles and 9.5 sacks.
Denzel Mims is a big receiver (6-foot-3, 215 pounds) who uses his size to his advantage well in jump ball situations. He also is acrobatic and has good body control. He’s not very fast which is why he’s a later round prospect, but he’s still a good route runner. He’s been productive over his career at Baylor catching 181 passes for 2850 yards and 27 touchdowns over 39 games.
