Round 1

Pick Analysis. WR. Tee Higgins. 23. 16. Scouting Report. player. Clemson

Besides John Brown and Cole Beasley, Buffalo lacks talent on the outside to create easy completions for Allen. With that, the receiving tandem stands at 5’10” and 5’8″ respectively. Tall, physical receivers with the ball skills to win in a one-on-one situation are perfect for young gunslingers like Allen (ex: Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson), and a receiver like Higgins can provide the bail-out target to help Allen while he continues to develop.

At 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, Higgins has a big frame used to box-out defenders on high-balls. He has a great understanding of leverage in coverage and can use this to position himself best for high-point jump balls. He is a natural hands-catcher and extends well to utilize his catch radius. With this kind of size, Higgins will also be able to provide run-blocking help.

If Higgins is to become a complete receiver, he will need to polish his route-running and agility for runs after the catch. Higgins has enough speed to get over the top of a trailing defender but needs to continue to improve on his ability to create vertical separation.

Higgins is the perfect player to complete the Bills receiving corps and will work well alongside veterans Brown and Beasley. Allen has the arm talent to stretch the field with this kind of target, and his catch radius will be more than helpful with Allen’s current accuracy troubles.
