Ranking the top 10 running backs in the 2020 NFL draft class.

The 2020 NFL draft class is filled with talent across many positions. The running backs in this class stand tall as a particularly strong group of players who could make an impact at the next level. Not only are there plenty of interesting backs who could be considered early, but this is also a deep class filled with guys who can come in and make an impact.

NFL teams do not value running backs as high as they used to, but it is still an interesting position to keep an eye on. Does your favorite NFL team have a need at the running back position? Perhaps you just want to get to know this class better to prepare for your dynasty fantasy football drafts? Regardless of why you’re here, follow along as we rank the top ten running backs in the 2020 NFL draft class.

RB. Georgia. 1. player. 814. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. D'Andre Swift

Georgia running back D’Andre Swift is a perfect fit for the modern NFL and is my favorite running back in the 2020 NFL draft class. Swift is a true threat to score whenever he has the ball in his hands. His combination of speed and quickness at the position is legitimately rare and he consistently makes the most out of his ability. Swift is a patient runner who shows good ball carrier vision, fantastic burst through the hole and is incredibly elusive in open space.

Swift consistently makes defenders miss in space, showing off his incredible combination of change of direction ability and short-area quickness. He is not overly powerful at the point of attack, but he can win with power at times and shows extremely impressive contact balance.

On top of his obvious ability as a runner, Swift also shows plenty of upside as a receiver out of the backfield. He is a natural route runner who can create space against man coverage and find the soft spots in a zone. He also consistently catches the ball away from his body and does a great job of turning upfield quickly and creating yardage after the catch.

Swift is not a stone-cold lock to be the first running back taken in the 2020 NFL Draft, but his combination of skills makes him an extremely intriguing offensive weapon. He is built for the modern NFL and has massive upside at the next level. Swift is my RB1 and I highly doubt that changes as we get closer to the 2020 NFL Draft.
