Tennessee. Trey Smith. 24. 60. Pick Analysis. Guard. Scouting Report. player

Let’s get weird. The Minnesota Vikings are one of the more complete teams in the NFL right now and have enjoyed success this season by running the ball effectively with Dalvin Cook. That running game has helped Kirk Cousins, who is somehow flying under the radar with a good 2019 season.

So where does this team need to improve? The popular answer is at corner, mostly because Xavier Rhodes has had a bad 2019 campaign. The good news is that the Vikings have young corners behind him who are still developing (Mike Hughes can still be a very good player).

However, there’s a more pressing need for this team, and it may sound like a broken record. The offensive line still needs work. It’s been nice to see Brian O’Neill develop at right tackle, and Garrett Bradbury, despite a rough rookie campaign, still needs time. The issues are at the guard spots and at left tackle with Riley Reiff. Good news Vikings fans! The 2020 NFL Draft has offensive linemen!

This is where Trey Smith comes in. Smith has put on some of the best offensive line film all season long. He’s very physical at the point of attack and has strong hands and good grip strength. Smith kept Javon Kinlaw, another first round pick here, off the stat sheet with a dominant performance. His only concern is medicals, and if they check out, some team will be very happy selecting him.
