2020 NFL Draft: Dolphins pass on Tua in this first-round mock draft
We are back to the Miami Dolphins, who currently have back to back selections in the 2020 NFL Draft. It’s possible if they go with someone like Andrew Thomas early (like they did in this mock draft), they could package picks to move up for a quarterback if that’s their desire. Or, they could stand pat and draft two impact players in the first round. Here, the Dolphins do take a quarterback, and that quarterback is Utah State’s Jordan Love.
Jordan Love had a lot of fans in the draft twitter community coming into the 2019 season, and it’s been tough sledding for him this year. Now, he did lose his coach, Matt Wells, and doesn’t have a lot of help from his receivers on offense. But, he has struggled with decision making and reads this season, which has led to 16 interceptions.
Despite all that, this writer believes Jordan Love’s ceiling is higher than any other quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft. The tools he has are off the charts. Love has one of the best arms in recent memory, and his ability to throw the ball on a rope while also having precise touch throws is super impressive. He can also make plays on the run and off-platform, and some of his plays do not look natural.
Love can sit behind Fitzpatrick for another year and learn under O’Shea’s offense in Miami, then take the league by storm in 2021.
