2020 NFL Draft: Dolphins pass on Tua in this first-round mock draft
The Dallas Cowboys aren’t having the season many expected, and the drama with Jason Garrett has been the dominant story from this team down the stretch of the regular season. If they don’t beat the Eagles on Sunday and end up missing the playoffs, this team could be searching for a new head coach in the offseason.
Should that happen, the approach to the offseason and the 2020 NFL Draft needs to focus on the defensive side of the football, because the offense is humming with Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and that offensive line.
Upgrading the defensive line makes a ton of sense for the Cowboys, as generating more pass rush from the interior would be great. However, the secondary is lacking after development from guys like Xavier Woods, Chido Awuzie, and Jourdan Lewis hasn’t gone as planned.
Here, the Cowboys select arguably the best safety in the 2020 NFL Draft, Grant Delpit. Now, it hasn’t been the best season from Delpit, especially with all the expectations heading into the season and the success of the LSU Tigers.
Delpit still has great range on the back end, but his tackling has been poor this season. He has been battling injuries this season and may be trying to avoid serious injury before the draft. Defensive coordinator Kris Richard will get the best out of Delpit.
