2020 NFL Draft: Five NFL teams who should target Utah DL Leki Fotu
Arizona Cardinals
Finding offensive linemen who can protect Kyler Murray should be the number one priority for the Arizona Cardinals this offseason. Murray has been running for his life all season long and if he is ever going to reach his full upside, the Cardinals are simply going to have to protect him better. That being said, there are still many clear needs on this team that must be addressed, including the interior defensive line.
Honestly, the Cardinals could use some help across their entire defensive line, which is what makes Fotu so appealing for them. If the Cardinals want to find a younger replacement for nose tackle Corey Peters, Fotu can be their guy. If they want him to provide depth as a five-technique defensive end in their 3-4 defense, he can handle that as well.
Fotu’s length makes him an ideal fit as a two-gap defensive lineman in a 3-4 defense. He should be able to handle all of the defensive line responsibilities for the Cardinals in their base defense right away. If he can become a true penetrator on the interior, that is where the Cardinals would reap the major benefits of bringing Fotu in.
Fotu would almost undoubtedly be a solid contributor in this defense. His floor is extremely high in this kind of scenario. However, his upside real as well, making him a logical target for the Cardinals in the middle rounds.
