Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills took Ed Oliver earlier in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Oliver has had an up-and-down rookie season, but he seems to be a fair bet to be a strong player on the interior for Buffalo. His ability to penetrate as an interior rusher gives him a massive upside going forward.

Oliver’s game is built on quickness and athleticism. He is powerful at the point of attack, but he will win with finesse more often than not. Based on what we know about Fotu, doesn’t he seem like a strong potential running mate for Oliver?

Fotu’s combination of length and power on the inside will make him a tough run defender and would provide great balance for the Bills at the defensive tackle position. Plus, if he were to improve his ability to rush the passer, he and Oliver could quickly become an extremely productive duo on the inside.

Jordan Phillips will hit free agency this offseason and Fotu feels like a logical replacement for him. Star Lotulelei is still around, but he is not enough of an impact player to hold these younger guys back.

The Bills could certainly use some more youth at the defensive tackle position and Fotu specifically feels like a great running mate for Oliver. I hope Buffalo considers bringing Fotu into the mix and letting him grow with Oliver on the inside.
