These NFL teams should have Utah DL Leki Fotu high on their 2020 NFL draft boards.

Utah’s Leki Fotu will not be considered one of the best prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft, but he is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Fotu is a massive man (6-foot-5, 335 pounds), but do not let his size fool you, this guy moves extremely well for a big defensive lineman and is not just a run-based defender.

Fotu will be pushed to the side by some simply because of his size. Sure, we all love big football players, but a guy as big as Fotu is typically only an asset against the run. In today’s NFL, there simply is not a need for many players who are best used as run defenders. That being said, when we take a deeper look into Fotu’s game, it is easy to see his potential as a pass rusher, making him a prospect worth taking a chance on in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Fotu is not only a big and powerful guy, but he also has extremely long arms that he knows how to use well. He consistently keeps space between himself and the opposing blocker and does a great job of playing a read and react game against the run. With his obvious power and long arms, Fotu shows a fantastic push/pull move that allows him to consistently shed blocks up front.

His great run defense ability gives Fotu a safe floor at the next level. At worst, he is going to be a strong early-down player on the interior. That being said, Fotu is quick off of the ball and has shown some ability to penetrate in college. While he is an unrefined pass rusher, Fotu clearly has some upside in that department. If he ever unlocks that upside, he will quickly become a fantastic three-downs defensive lineman.

Fotu’s combination of power, length and movement skills will make him an intriguing target for any team in the 2020 NFL Draft. He is probably best suited for a defense that runs an odd front, but Fotu could also handle one-gap responsibilities in an even front. Any NFL team could use a guy like Fotu, but in this post, we are going to look at the teams who should have the closest eye on him.
