Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU

The 2020 cornerback class is headlined by names like Jeffrey Okudah, Kristian Fulton, and Trevon Diggs. Fulton will be down in Mobile looking to solidify his first round status.

When it comes to rounding out the top five, a lot of that is up in the air at the moment, and the class is waiting for someone to rise throughout the draft process. TCU corner Jeff Gladney could be the riser.

His stat line has been solid in his time with the Horned Frogs. Gladney has just five interceptions in his career, but the big number is his 37 career pass breakups, 26 of which have come in his last two seasons.

That ability shows up on tape for Gladney. He’s got excellent footwork at the line of scrimmage and he makes changing direction look effortless. Gladney has plenty of speed to run with receivers down the field, and has great instincts to find the ball and break up passes at the catch point.

It’s possible that the Big 12 defense narrative overshadows his play, but the Senior Bowl will be a great opportunity for him. He will be lined up against some really talented receivers, and if he shows out, he could rise into first round consideration and even solidify it during the week.
