Zack Baun, EDGE/LB, Wisconsin

Zack Baun is a really intriguing prospect, not just for Mobile but at the next level in general. At just 6’3″ and 235 pounds, Baun lined up on the edge for the Wisconsin Badgers this season, and had a very productive year. He put up 12.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss coming off the edge.

Teams are looking at that size and probably suggesting he play linebacker at the next level. Baun was listed in the linebacker group on the Senior Bowl roster reveal, so it’s likely he ends up getting reps in there along with on the edge.

Baun is a very good athlete, and it shows on tape. He’s good good bend around the edge and has quick twitch, which is something you would expect for someone his size on the edge. His hand usage is solid but could use some work, which is even more reason to check him out at linebacker.

The Senior Bowl is all about one on one matchups, and for Baun, he may struggle a bit going up against the top senior tackles in the country.

With his athleticism, it wouldn’t shock this writer if he performed well covering running backs and tight ends and end up cementing himself as a linebacker with plenty of potential in this weaker class.
