The tight end class lacks some top end talent, but has some intriguing day two options in Brycen Hopkins (a Senior Bowl attendee) and Hunter Bryant (an underclassmen). However, both lean towards being solely receiving options and NFL teams are clamoring for a well-rounded tight end. Harrison Bryant can be that in this class.

Bryant broke out at Florida Atlantic in his senior season. He caught 65 passes for 1,004 yards and seven touchdowns, which nearly topped his sophomore and junior seasons combined.

The stats are there for a receiving tight end, but he also can play inline and block up front. At 6’5″ and 240 pounds, teams may ask him to add some weight when he’s drafted, but his ability and willingness to block will intrigue teams.

The Senior Bowl will be a great test for Bryant. Teams will want to see if he’s improved his route tree as a receiver and if he’s got good technique as a blocker. He will face off against top safeties and linebackers and will need to show he can separate and make contested catches there.

If he can put together a well-rounded week, he will likely jump up boards and find his way into day two conversation.
