Los Angeles Chargers

It hasn’t been the season that the Los Angeles Chargers were hoping for, and their fans are now looking to the 2020 NFL Draft. The big question right now for this team involves Philip Rivers. Will he return in 2020, or will he retire or move on elsewhere? Either way, it’s time for this team to look into drafting a quarterback early.

Nothing is set in stone, but it seems likely that Burrow and Tua could be off of the board by the time the Chargers select. That leaves them with Herbert or Love at this spot (there could be a wild card depending on their preference).

The upside with Love, in this writer’s opinion, is slightly higher than Herbert. Love is a better touch passer and than sling it down the field. His abilities work well with Mike Williams and with Keenan Allen/Hunter Henry as intermediate targets.

After drafting Love, the Chargers need to focus on building the offensive line. Love can sit with Tyrod Taylor as the bridge quarterback, then the Chargers can get back to making a run in 2020 with Jordan Love at quarterback.

It’s time for a change in Los Angeles, and Jordan Love can sit for a season and be that change for the Chargers.
