The 2020 NFL Draft is going to be fascinating at the quarterback position. Jordan Love and the Indianapolis Colts could be the perfect match.

The 2020 NFL Draft is going to be a lot of fun at the quarterback position.

Not only do we have guys like LSU’s Joe Burrow and Oregon’s Justin Herbert among the seniors who will likely go off the board in the top half of the first round, there are underclassmen like Tua Tagovailoa and now Jordan Love who could join the top 32.

Tagovailoa has yet to declare his intent for the 2020 NFL Draft, but Love has made up his mind. He’s moving on from Utah State to the NFL.

After a stellar sophomore season at Utah State where he threw 32 touchdown passes and just six interceptions, Love had a down year statistically in 2019, throwing 17 touchdown passes and 16 interceptions.

Although Love’s season was not impressive statistically, and he didn’t always play his best ball against the top competition Utah State faced, his traits are impressive, his arm talent is obvious, and his athleticism is excellent.

NFL talent evaluators really seem to like Jordan Love, and we know that the quarterback position is always at a premium. Some NFL team is going to believe they can extract the best out of Love, and I think one team that benefits greatly from him entering the 2020 NFL Draft and perhaps his best fit is the Indianapolis Colts.

Head coach Frank Reich has proven himself to be something of a wizard with the quarterback position. The team re-signed Jacoby Brissett to a new contract but they have no dead money on it beyond this season, and could easily trade or release him to get out of it if they don’t feel like he’s ‘the guy’ going forward.

Whether or not the Colts keep Brissett won’t prevent them from pursuing talent at the quarterback position in the NFL Draft, especially considering they will have ample cap space to make any moves they need/want to there.

At this point, Reich hasn’t chosen ‘his guy’ at the QB position for the Colts in the NFL Draft, and someone as talented as Jordan Love could be too enticing to pass up on in the first round.

Reich did masterful work as the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive coordinator in 2016-17 when they brought Carson Wentz in out of North Dakota State. Wentz was playing at an MVP level under Reich in the 2017 season and the Eagles ended up winning the Super Bowl that year with Nick Foles coming on in relief.

Next. Love goes to Colts in latest 2020 mock draft. dark

Reich is one of the top developers of QB talent in the NFL coaching ranks right now, and that’s exactly what Jordan Love needs.
