LSU. Grant Delpit. 21. player. 123. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. S

Not long ago, LSU safety Grant Delpit was one of the premier players in the 2020 NFL draft class. He is an extremely active and athletic safety prospect who has obvious upside at the next level. That being said, Delpit has really struggled with tackling this season. He consistently struggles to bring down ball carriers in space, allowing them to consistently pick up more yardage than they should.

Is this just a guy trying to protect himself from injury with an eye on the 2020 NFL Draft or is it a real issue? We really cannot say for sure yet, but I am concerned.

That being said, Delpit is too perfect of a fit for the Dallas Cowboys to ignore here. The Cowboys have a massive need at the safety position and Delpit’s ability to make an impact in coverage would immediately help their defense.

Pick Analysis. EDGE. K'Lavon Chaisson. 22. player. 59. Scouting Report. LSU

With their second of three first-round selections, the Dolphins find an impact player on the defensive side of the ball. K’Lavon Chaisson is an absolute freak on the edge who has an impressive combination of speed and athleticism. Chaisson is incredibly quick off of the ball and consistently bends around the edge with ease.

Once he turns the corner, Chaisson turns on the burner and closes on the quarterback in the blink of an eye. It is easy to watch Chaisson, see him pop and get excited by his obvious upside. That being said, there are some durability concerns here and he does tend to disappear at times.

Chaisson is not a perfect prospect, but he is one of the most exciting players in the 2020 NFL draft class. Snagging him at 22 could potentially be the biggest steal in this mock draft.
