2020 NFL mock draft: Burrow or Young at No. 1? How far does Tua fall?
By Evan Bachman
There are a number of different directions the Arizona Cardinals could go with their pick in this 2020 NFL mock draft. They have positional needs all over their defense, but getting Kyler Murray weapons or protection has to be the top priority. With the Cardinals at 3-8-1 and an offense that, according to NFL.com, is currently 20th in the NFL at 21.2 points per game, the Kliff Kingsbury experiment is not off to the best start.
Arizona could also go with Georgia offensive tackle Andrew Thomas, but opt for a passing-game weapon instead. The Cardinals have some solid young receivers like Christian Kirk, Andy Isabella and Hakeem Butler, but none of them are really sure bets to develop into number one level receivers, so I think they would jump at the opportunity to give Murray a potential true number one option for a long time to come.
CeeDee Lamb has good size (6-2, 191 lbs) to win jump balls and is a nightmare to bring down with the ball in his hands. He also played with Murray last season at Oklahoma where he caught 65 passes for 1158 yards and 11 touchdowns, so they would certainly have chemistry coming in.
According to PFF, Lamb broke 18 tackles on 50 catches and gained 553 yards after the catch this season. He also has 1035 yards in total and 15 touchdowns (one rushing) in 11 games.
