Carolina Panthers 2020 NFL Draft: Complete 7-round mock draft
By Ian Higgins
Devin Duvernay may be one of the most unique and intriguing prospects of the 2019 NFL draft, due to his running back build and nature at the wide receiver position. Duvernay is a solid 5’11”, 210 pounds and is built similarly to a running back.
Duvernay has some unique physical gifts from his background, possessing straight-line speed and after the catch toughness. With these gifts though, come slow footwork and lacking agility.
Duvernay still looks like a running back in his route running and will need to make significant strides to contribute on an NFL roster.
Duvernay provides the raw athleticism to be molded into a star wide receiver, already possessing a reliable set of hands. With a build similar to that of former Carolina star receiver Steve Smith, Duvernay will likely only be able to contribute day 1 as a gadget player and special teamer.
With some development in his route running, Duvernay could develop into a top-tier prototypical explosive slot receiver.
