First round

DT. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Auburn. Derrick Brown. 14. player. 87

The first part of Tepper’s revival of old glory days in te 2020 NFL draft is going to be strengthening the front-seven around Luke Kuechly and a strong nose tackle (ex: Kawann Short). Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown is going to fill that slot and do it alongside pro bowl mid-season addition Gerald McCoy.

These two interior pass-rushers placed alongside a second-year Brian Burns and a still effective Bruce Irvin, that is a pass-rush who can do it with the best. Behind them will be a Luke Kuechly led linebacking corp and an experienced secondary including James Bradberry and Eric Reid

Brown is a strong, overpowering nose tackle who is able to absorb blockers against the run and still get out to make an arm tackle on a ball carrier. This overwhelming strength is a dominating presence to build a defense around.
