Previewing the 2020 NFL Draft for the New York Jets with a complete seven-round mock draft.

Entering last weekend, the New York Jets were riding high. They had just easily taken care of the Oakland Raiders for their third victory in a row. At 4-7, they were far from competitive, but franchise quarterback Sam Darnold was playing well and the team as a whole looked great. Things were looking up for the New York Jets.

Just one week later and the Jets are looking at a completely different reality. On Sunday, the Jets traveled to Cincinnati and took an ugly 22-6 loss to the previously winless Bengals. Give Cincinnati credit here, they came in and took care of business. However, the Jets have a more talented roster and should have been able to beat this team. This loss put a spotlight on the obvious flaws on this team.

The New York Jets lack significant talent at many key positions. In particular, offensive tackle, edge rusher and cornerback stand out as clear needs for this team going forward. Also, this franchise needs to consider making a change at head coach.

Adam Gase is still in his first season as the Jets’ head coach, but he is clearly not a strong fit for the team. Hiring Gase this past offseason was a mistake and general manager Joe Douglas is going to want to get his guy in there sooner, rather than later.

Whether the Jets pull the plug on the Gase era or not, expect significant changes to this roster this offseason as Douglas looks to rebuild this team properly around Darnold. The Jets have some nice pieces on both sides of the ball, but they lack impact players at some of the most important positions in modern football.

How should Douglas and the Jets look to improve through the 2020 NFL Draft? In this post, we go seven rounds deep and look at a possible game-changing scenario.
