player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Jalen Hurts. 1. 28. Oklahoma

I’ve been saying for a long time now that the best fit for Jalen Hurts in the NFL could be the Oakland, soon-to-be-Las Vegas, Raiders.

The Raiders have been rumored for two years now to be in the market for young quarterbacks, but Derek Carr has been solid enough to prevent them from a high draft pick investment at the position. This is honestly surprising considering Jon Gruden’s affinity for young quarterbacks.

I think the streak will end in 2020, one way or another.

Jalen Hurts’ stock has been blowing up this season and especially so with the way Lamar Jackson has run the Baltimore Ravens’ offense to near-perfection.

Hurts is capable of making a similar impact in the NFL, even if he’s not quite as talented of a passer as Jackson was at this point in his development just yet.

The Raiders are a run-oriented team, which already suits Hurts, but his big arm and athleticism could make this team so dynamic. I would love to see this pairing and I think Gruden would be willing to put in the necessary time to make it work.

Hurts is also a team-first guy that coaches absolutely love, and I think Gruden will fall for him in the draft process.
