Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Washington. Jacob Eason. 10. player. 87

The Carolina Panthers fired head coach Ron Rivera, and many believe that Cam Newton has played his last game for the Panthers as well.

Regardless of what you think about that, what typically happens when teams hire a new head coach and/or general manager is that the team also brings in a new quarterback as well.

Whatever head coach the Panthers bring in is probably not going to be required to roll with Newton, whose availability has been sparse in the last four seasons and he’s definitely not the same player when playing through the injury.

Jacob Eason has as much arm talent as you will find in the 2020 NFL Draft class, but he doesn’t have as much time on task as other prospects. Still, his ability to run Chris Petersen’s offense at Washington this past year was fun to watch, and the Panthers have plenty of talent at the skill positions to help a rookie quarterback come along quickly.
