The Washington Redskins, like any team in the NFL, certainly want to find that player who can play physical in the box as an every-down linebacker but also drop into coverage when needed and, if possible rush the passer.

That’s not too much to ask for, is it?

It turns out, the Redskins actually have a player who can do those things in Landon Collins, but they need someone who is going to be playing in the front seven consistently who can do all of those things, and right now, Akeem Davis-Gaither may be the most underrated player in the country with that skill set.

Davis-Gaither has recently started to appear in the top 100 of some big boards, and he’s certainly deserving with his stellar all-around play at Appalachian State. He’s got 23 tackles for loss and 13 pass breakups over the past two seasons, showing off his ability to play off the ball as well as off the edge.
