New England Patriots

That picture above is all you need to know regarding the state of the passing game for the New England Patriots. The receiver group right now isn’t getting things done, and post-Gronk life has been tough on this offense. More teams will take the approach the Texans did by doubling Julian Edelman and forcing the other receivers on the roster to beat them.

Former first-round pick Philip Dorsett and undrafted free agent Jakobi Meyers aren’t getting it done right now. Rookie first-round pick N’Keal Harry finally got on the field, but it may take him some time. The Patriots traded for Mohamed Sanu, but he’s a possession receiver who also struggles to separate at times.

It can’t be all Julian Edelman and James White. They need another receiving weapon. Yes, the Patriots took Harry in the first round last year, but there shouldn’t be anything preventing them from looking at that possibility in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Adding a player like Jalen Reagor would make this offense instantly more explosive. Teams wouldn’t like to deal with Reagor in the Pats offense. He would bring that big-play ability and versatility for the Patriots to scheme him into great matchups every week.
