Colorado vs. Utah: 5 2020 NFL Draft Prospects to Watch
Leki Fotu (#99) – Utah Utes
2019 Season Stats: 17 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, 0 Sacks
When discussing the Utah Utes defense, you would be hard-pressed to not bring up nose tackle Leki Fotu. Standing at a whopping 6-6 and weighing in at 330 pounds, you simply cannot miss the senior from West Valley City. And as far as nose tackles go, Fotu is one of the best at the position.
Fotu is a strong football player and it shows up on film. While he’ll play a little high for my liking at times, more times than not Fotu wins with great leverage up the middle. Additionally, for his size, Fotu has a pretty good burst off of the ball, and in passing downs, he shows an ability to rush the passer despite not getting the requisite numbers.
When he does rush the passer, at times he can be seen using a nice pallet of swats to knock away his would-be blockers’ hands. While he’s not bending and given his size you wouldn’t expect him to, Fotu just wins with his overwhelming power and size.
The Buffaloes offensive line has been playing admirable football up to this point, however, they haven’t faced a front like Utah’s. Moreover, they haven’t faced a player as strong as Fotu yet, as he is one the most powerful players in the 2020 NFL Draft.
