D.K. Metcalf has been impressive as a rookie for the Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle Seahawks rookie wide receiver D.K Metcalf has immediately started to make a name for himself at the NFL level. Coming out of the University of Mississippi, Metcalf has already cemented a starting position for himself as a rookie, which is quite impressive, to say the least.

As the Seahawks’ offensive performance have been exponentially better this season, some could make the argument that Metcalf to his credit has performed well in his contributions to the Seahawks’ offense. With Metcalf being clocked in with a total of 630 receiving yards on 38 receptions, he has placed himself as the eleventh most average yards per receptions this season, as he’s also placed third in regard to rookie receivers.

With an impressive performance thus far this season, it seems that Metcalf has already solidified himself as a major asset for the Seattle Seahawks going forward. Simply put, he has been incredible for a second-round rookie receiver.

While it’s understandable that some critics are under the belief that Metcalf may lack the experience he needs, considering that he missed his final two years of college football, Metcalf has proven thus far that he can compete and perform well at a professional atmosphere.

However, despite the performances he’s given, some could argue that his ability over time could very well diminish depending on how the competitive level may evolve in the near future. Metcalf needs to assure that his talents are able to adapt to the skill level of the NFL as his receiving career continues, no matter how much the competition level may change.

The NFL has notably grown into a heavily-influenced passing game over the past years, to which Metcalf could get the experience of in itself if he continues to play for a high-level offensive team like the Seahawks. Thankfully for him, he continues to exceed expectations as a valuable wide-receiver in today’s generation of the NFL.
