2020 NFL Draft: Thanksgiving Day first-round 2020 NFL mock draft
4. Washington Redskins: Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia
The Washington Redskins are an absolute mess at the moment and no one player is going to change that. They have holes all over the place and are a long way away from putting a quality product on the field.
That being said, they do get an opportunity to fill a huge need by getting the best tackle in the 2020 NFL Draft as they take Andrew Thomas with the fourth overall pick.
Not only are both of the Redskins starting tackles likely to be gone after the season, but through 11 games, the offensive line have allowed 35 sacks. That’s not a good recipe when trying to develop a rookie first-round quarterback.
Drafting Andrew Thomas would give them an immediate plug and play tackle that can play on either side of the line. He has played left tackle for the last two seasons with the Bulldogs but did play 10 games on the right side as a freshman, where he was named a Freshman All-American.
He has all of the physical tools you could want and a versatility that is invaluable at this level.
It may not be the sexiest pick for a team looking for anything to get excited about but it is the smart decision.
